Permits

The town of Westport Island, like all towns in Maine, is responsible for regulating how land is used within town boundaries, including what is built on the land. The town ordinances that govern land use regulation are the Building Code Ordinance, and the Shoreland Zoning Ordinance. If you are considering a project of any kind, please complete our Land Use Permit Application. Not all projects require a permit, but by filling out a permit application you can be sure!
